Letter to the Global Community

I
am currently the Imam of Islamic Center of
Peoria and I think it would be a great idea to hear our apologist Nadir
Ahmed
who runs the website ExamineTheTruth.com to debate Irshad Manji.
However, we
have noticed that Irshad Manji prefers to debate those Muslims who are
not
acquainted with Islamic apologetics, as we have seen on the PBS
documentary Faith
Without Fear. The documentary was appalling. Only the most ignorant
Muslims
were selected to debate with Irshad Manji, as they presented nonsense
as
arguments against her. However, we have also noticed that Irshad Manji
avoids
debating qualified Islamic apologists such as Nadir Ahmed of
ExamineTheTruth.com. Nader Ahmed has challenged Irshad
Manji to
debate
several times and has responded to her propaganda here: http://www.examinethetruth.com/manjism/Irshad_Manji_propaganda.htm
I believe that I speak for Muslims as a whole, when I say that such portrayals are dishonest and contradict the spirit of open debate and honest exchange of ideas. The Islamic community is indeed open for dialogue and debate, and we are calling for honest open debate with Irshad Manji with our Islamic apologist Nadir Ahmed.
